Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The Woodland Hills Owner’s Guide
If you’re planning a Caesarstone home addition or ADU in Woodland Hills, the installed cost typically runs $45,000 to $130,000 depending on square footage, foundation requirements, and how much Caesarstone surface area the project includes. We stock and install Caesarstone-compatible surfaces across countertop runs, islands, and wet bars in new additions and ADUs throughout the San Fernando Valley. Most Woodland Hills homeowners discover the difference between a smooth addition and a problem job when the slab layout doesn’t match the cabinet spec, or when a countertop arrives cut for the wrong overhang and nobody caught it before the fabricator left.
This page is the breakdown we wish every homeowner had before starting. What it costs, what fails first, and what you should check before writing a check. We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with Caesarstone, but we’ve installed enough of their product to know exactly where the trouble spots live.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone’s catalog spans over 40 colors across several collections, and the good news is that most of them cut and install the same way. The differences that matter for a Woodland Hills addition or ADU come down to slab size and edge profile compatibility. Standard slabs run 56 1/2 inches by 120 inches (about 3060mm x 1440mm if your fabricator thinks in metric), which matters when you’re planning an island longer than 10 feet or a run that wraps a corner in a new ADU kitchen.
The collections you’ll most often see in Woodland Hills additions are the Supernatural and Metropolitan lines. Supernatural leans toward soft, veined patterns that mimic marble, while Metropolitan runs more concrete and mineral looks. Both use the same quartz composition, roughly 90% natural quartz with polymer resin binders, but the finish varies: polished, honed, or what Caesarstone calls a Natural finish on select Supernatural colors. The gotcha: honed and Natural finishes show fingerprints and oil marks more readily than polished, which matters in an ADU rental where turnover cleaning may be less frequent. For outdoor kitchens attached to an addition, Caesarstone’s Outdoor collection carries UV-stable pigments. Standard indoor slabs will fade and yellow under direct California sun, and we’ve seen that mistake made in Warner Center backyard projects more than once.
When we spec the job, we match the slab to the use. Polished for heavy-use kitchens, honed where the homeowner wants that matte look and accepts the maintenance, Outdoor for any surface that gets direct sun. We also stock select Caesarstone remnants and can source full slabs through our suppliers within a week for most Woodland Hills projects.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- Cracks radiating from a corner of the sink cutout. This is the classic failure point. The cutout leaves only a narrow bridge of stone between the sink and the counter’s edge, and any settling in a new addition makes that bridge the first casualty. We see it most in ADUs built on post-tension slabs that shift slightly in Woodland Hills soil.
- Visible seam separation or lippage. Lippage is the trade word for one slab sitting higher than its neighbor at the seam. A difference you can feel with a fingernail means the installer didn’t shim and level properly, and it will only get worse as cabinets settle.
- Chalky white residue that won’t clean off. This is usually etching from acidic spills on a honed or Natural finish. Caesarstone is quartz, not marble, so it resists etching better, but the resin binder can dull permanently if oven cleaner, drain cleaner, or undiluted vinegar sits on it.
- Staining that penetrates despite sealing. Caesarstone doesn’t require sealing, which is one of its selling points. If a stain won’t lift with warm water and mild dish soap, the surface has been compromised, usually from a hot pan set directly on it. Resin scorches at high heat.
- Delamination of the surface layer at an edge. If you see a thin edge peeling or flaking near the dishwasher or a steamy area, that’s the resin breaking down. In a new Woodland Hills addition, this almost always traces back to a slab that was stored improperly before installation.
Replacement Cost & What’s Included

For a Caesarstone countertop replacement in an existing Woodland Hills home, plan on $2,000 to $6,500 including material, fabrication, and installation. For a full home addition or ADU build where Caesarstone surfaces are part of the scope, the total project runs $45,000 to $130,000, with the Caesarstone portion typically accounting for $4,000 to $12,000 depending on square footage and how many pieces (kitchen, bath vanity, wet bar) are involved.
What drives the price in Woodland Hills specifically: slab count and color tier. Caesarstone prices colors in tiers, and moving from an entry-level Supernatural color to a premium veined color can add 30% to the material cost. Edge profile matters too: a simple eased edge is standard, but a waterfall island edge or mitered wrap costs more in fabrication hours. We include templating (laser measurement of your exact cabinet footprint), fabrication, delivery, installation, and sealing of all seams with color-matched epoxy. Every project gets a written price before any work starts, and if the install isn’t right within 365 days, we make it right at no cost under our Done Right Promise.

Let’s be honest about what’s realistic. A homeowner can check for lippage, run a hand along seams, and confirm the slab color matches the sample they picked. That’s worth doing. But installing or replacing Caesarstone is not a weekend project. A full 56 1/2 x 120 inch slab weighs roughly 450 to 500 pounds, and the cutting requires water-fed diamond tools. Storing the slab wrong before install, lifting it without suction cups, or getting the seam epoxy ratio off can ruin a $2,500 slab in about fifteen seconds. We’ve been called to fix those exact jobs.

FAQs

Caesarstone quartz surfaces last 20 to 30 years indoors when installed correctly and not abused with direct high heat. In Woodland Hills specifically, the bigger risk to a new addition or ADU is settling. If your foundation moves, the countertop moves with it, and quartz cracks before it flexes. Outdoor Caesarstone in direct Valley sun lasts 10 to 15 years before UV fade becomes noticeable, even with the UV-stable Outdoor line. Call (831) 290-6866 and we’ll inspect your slab at no charge.
Small chips (smaller than a quarter) can be filled with color-matched epoxy and polished to near-invisible in about an hour. Full cracks through the slab, especially at sink cutouts, cannot be reliably repaired. The crack will reopen as soon as the structure shifts again, and patching a structural crack in a new addition usually just delays a replacement by months, not years. If you send us a photo, we’ll tell you honestly which category yours falls into before quoting anything.
From template to installed slab, plan on one to two weeks. Templating takes about an hour, fabrication runs five to seven business days, and installation takes half a day. Demolition of the old countertop adds about two hours, and we haul away the old stone. We protect your floors and clean the work area before we leave, every time.
We keep a selection of Caesarstone remnants for small jobs like bathroom vanities and window sills, and we source full slabs from our material partners within about a week for most Woodland Hills projects. We also work with other brands we stock parts and surfaces for, including KraftMaid, Cambria, and Silestone, so if Caesarstone doesn’t have the exact color you want, you have options without chasing a second contractor.
